Ferrero has announced the launch of its new vegan Nutella, named Nutella Plant-Based, set to hit Italian supermarket shelves in September 2024. This new variant, identified by a green lid, is both lactose and gluten-free, and is made from plant-based ingredients such as chickpeas and rice syrup. The vegan Nutella aims to maintain the classic taste and creamy texture of the original. Priced at 4.49 euros for a 350-gram jar, it will be available initially in Italy, France, and Belgium, with a wider European roll-out expected in 2025. Certification by the Vegetarian Society as 'Vegan Approved' ensures it meets the dietary trends of a growing number of consumers opting for plant-based foods. It will be produced in Italy at Ferrero's plant in Sant’Angelo dei Lombardi, marking a significant innovation in Ferrero’s product line for those with lactose intolerance and those moderating animal product consumption.
